Extension in Castleford West Yorkshire
An extension in Castleford West Yorkshire incorporating an open plan kitchen, dining living space.Having added a second storey extension incorporating two additional bedrooms and an ensuite bathroom to this detached 1930’s brick built house in Castleford our client asked us to add a single storey rear extension to replace the existing traditional kitchen with a contemporary open plan kitchen dining living room. It was imperative that the design of the extension had to have a lightness of touch sitting comfortably within the garden and giving maximum access to it in both practical and visual terms and be flooded with natural light. It was an easy decision for the extension to have a flat roof concealed behind a parapet, be finished in white contemporary high tech render, be lit from above with a lantern light and across the whole room with an expanse of aluminium sliding doors.To tie the new extension to an existing extension its plastic doors were replaced with the same aluminium sliding doors as the new extension.
