The property is in a conservation area adjacent to the Cock River a tributary of the River Wharfe. It was was designed with garaging at ground floor level and living and bedroom accommodation on the first and second floors but with standard height window cills advantage was not taken of the views over the river. We were commissioned gain planning and building regulations approvals and provide working drawings for the necessary alterations to take advantage of the views from the first floor and add a reading room which would also take advantage of the views. We changed two windows to French doors one with a Juliet balcony and the other with an external balcony and designed a single storey extension on the quiet side of the house for the reading room.
